- April 2025 Prologue
A chill lingers over Travance, deeper than the previous winter’s bite, heavier than the weight of time itself. It does not creep, it spreads, seeping into the marrow of the land, gnawing at the edges of warmth and life. The dead stir. Graves once sealed with ceremonious rites now yawn open to the night. Spectral figures drift through the forests, their hollow eyes filled with an awareness that should not remain. The roads grow treacherous, not with bandits or beasts, but with things that do not belong in the waking world. The air smells of damp earth and dried blood, and whispers in archaic tongues slither through the wind. But it is not just the rising dead that weighs on the people of Travance. The gods’ voices are becoming distant. The priests and clerics feel it first, a dulling, like a blade worn smooth. Their prayers do not carry as they once did, their divine blessings weaker, as though spoken into an empty room that does not answer. The Chosen work harder, their miracles faltering. The guardians of faith swing their weapons, but the righteous fury that once guided them is dimmed. And even the most practiced Ceremonialist seems to struggle to invoke the divine. It is as if they must shout with all their might to even be heard. Yet for all that trouble, at least they are eventually heard. For one religion, all has gone silent. Draka’Thul’s presence has not been felt in days, and no responses are heard to calls to him. The moonlight, once a sign of his watchful gaze, now seems colder, more distant. The sacred places dedicated to him lie hollow, their symbols covered in unnatural rust and decay. Where there was once an unshakable connection, there is now only absence. The world feels wrong. Travance has weathered many storms, but this, this is something else. The people murmur in taverns, whisper in the dark corners of churches, glance nervously at the horizon. Some call it an omen. Some call it a curse. But no matter what name they give it, one thing is certain. Something is coming.

- March 2025 Epilogue
A six-fingered Sorcerer slumbers slumped silly on bed and books bound in blankets and billowing pillows. A room adorned with purple and black banners, they drape the walls further adorned with birds in flight. A fire cracks calmly in the hearth as it shifts from flames of orange red to green and blue, then in a flash of pink; paws pat precociously yet precisely placed amidst the soot and ash. The orange cat, with horns like flutes, stretches and grooms for entirely too long before making his way over to the sleeping woman and nestling its head in the crook of her neck. With a sturr and a wurr Ervvanna wakes in a wombus of wafting wails, before noticing her facade of a feline friend frustratingly fuzzing his face against her. Blinking in recognition she hugs the “cat” with a shocking lack of delicateness and yells out “Franklin!” spinning him side to side. The two talk as she truly begins to wake, sluggish sprites puppet clothes as if to stand on their own, and dress her still in bed. Franklin protests, nudging her from her nest to the floor. “Fine, fine, they should almost be here anyway.” She smiles as she clicks her shoes, a whirl of miasma engulfs her, and the wrinkles in her clothes disappear into perfectly-pressed paduasoy. “Yes Franklin the Absolus did remind me of this spell.” she chimes back at her companion waving her hand in frustration over her face, for no soot so much as scrubs nor lifts the slightest bit. “Oh.. ya you’re right.” she says reaching down and grabbing a wet cloth from Franklin’s outstretched paw. A quick scrub later and she turns to her friend, “Better?” she says to the silent room aside from her lively conversation. “Thank you, I like it too.” She smiles and picks out a matching shade of purple lipstick. A knock at the door disrupts the discourse. Greeting her to Dame Ebony and Ser Kestrel, neither yet notice the cat under the covers as its eyes watch like that of stargazing children. The three make their way to have dinner for the fifth night in a row, Ervvanna regales them of Frakus her fiery warrior friend from long ago, who once wrestled ten Yeti, while wearing only a loin cloth and a hat. She spoke of Ergold the scholar who once told her that every book had a soul - but she insists he was just being poetic, Markus the cat with legs far too short for his size, the Cow she had as a child named Darius who was just a cow - with absolutely nothing special about him - other than his so very mundane polarizing personality, and how Liviting Quail taste strangely like King Crab from the plane of Water. A messenger finds their way to the three to carry word from Lord Wainwright that although she was busy tonight, she was free for lunch the next day after. There the two drank “Day Wine” and gabbed of garble most engrossingly off topic and irrelevant to where we move our focus now…. A Dark Sorcerer tosses in bed, remembering visions of a sinister twinkling thrown, a temptation, and a resolve without hesitation. Not he, but the beast within him worms at the thought of what its capture was prepared to do. Terrified as Orvexsus marched closer to reclaim what was his, knowing should Gabrial take the throne it would surely be completely consumed with what he would become. Yet more that very same night after, a Tevvyxian swears he hears half a voice impossibly echo from deep within his core, dismissing the noise as an illusion through thought and reason. Sunken in an armchair, Orophin settles into a new heaviness as a book he holds flutters open, and his event horizon now shimmers with a litany of iridescent glittering flecks of the once Demon Lord's power. Propped betwixt a pair of lips, a pipe contorts and twists as what lay within feeds two somethings under the surface. Julia inhales as a twilight smoke fills her lungs, and exhales a rainbow of unfettered clouds that dissipate into the wind. A scholar, dressed wowheain blue and white, takes note as she shifts and changes. It rushes over her like a sudden high, then harmlessly fades away….. A Bariqir tends to their arm, now riddled with spinning bruises and dotted with little burns. Their shoulder, elbow, and fingers all ache from that shimmering arrow. Tuulikki traces Sylphan markings up her arm as she notices to her amazement as they shift and accent the burns like filigree. An echo carries in their mind and around all of whom we watch, it illuminates not just those written but all who stood to act against the gloom. A faint wisps of words once spoken… “By Midas Gold and Kithstone Light, This pocket of Gloom will see its final night. By Arawyn’s Glamour and Magic of Fey, This Darkness will end this day” I asked what you will be? You answered me…. Now a throne remains empty, a once Demon Lord dead, as new lights ignite, and pushing back what may now be hiding.
- March 2025 Prologue
Wayward wards grow wary when forgotten. Letters left misplaced laced with good intentions. Written by a mysterious Mistress, making a manifold of her predicament. Prone to mishap, is it good luck or none at all? Consequence of a foe not quite defeated. No fault of her nor the soon collateral. Since battles past time contracted and receded. Shattered glass now smoothed by the sand once held within. Cunning and unseen they creep just around the corner, how tragic it must be for the victim yet known? Some scholars study who's yet to come. Dread seeps into every calming thought so persistent, something lurking from its cage plans action against. What will you be?

Logistics Announcements Please remember that while you are in line waiting for check in, please be respectful of the marshals on duty and remain quiet while near the desk. - Adventuring in Arawyn - Player Initiative
Hello everyone! This event we will be starting something new with the Content Team. I have been asked by many people about wanting to pursue things that aren't quite appropriate for Personal Plots, but also aren't really in the scope of general content and wanted to devise a pathway to achieve these things. For a game about adventuring, players should be allowed to do just that! In the link is a player driven initiative for requesting certain types of content with a level of guarantee that you will be able to get those encounters. The system is not perfect and will see edits made as it is interacted with, but more than anything, we wanted to create an avenue for players to be proactive in their downtime and also be able to pursue the things they want without waiting around to be lucky enough to stumble on it. Happy hunting, heroes! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fxyp-vVQ5IimXLt_yYkQoSUEBYFDcfQJeQIeu5SYcO0/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.qkt5adoeb5ws

Please take advantage of this and help everyone have a great feast! Exalted Rules Announcements Many Changes to rituals have been made for quality of life, making them clearer if they are meant to be used only for the ritualist or another target. Additionally, many rituals have had the requirement to target an unbound artifact removed and may be used on artifacts bound to other characters. However, Ritual (and Rune) of Permanency remain requiring the artifact be unbound or bound to the ritualist. Please refer to your Exalted Class if it has rituals to review these changes. The following rituals have been changed in specific ways: Ritual of the Moon Exceptional Assistant Siphon Essence Metalcraft of Retaliation / Goln’s Ritual of Retaliation Serevar's Effusion Have been changed to last 3 months and allow once use per weekend Ritual of the Tesseract Gate Is now invokable Fortify Spirit Soul Rewrite May no longer be invoked, and has an immediate effect instead Scourge Talisman Now specifies targets are Displaced out of the area. Vitae Infusion Will heal you even if an attack would have rendered you critical or dead. We have standardized rules for using unusual weapons, such as flails. This can be read about here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XZfAaXkhq701o7eVEoypALbXlzLNybC1pSOin7ej54s/ We would like to remind players that if the majority of the players around you can not identify your gestures as spellcasting, it would be the equivalent of mumbling to verbally spellcast, and will be treated as a flub by Field Refs (meaning the spell would fail). It is important that players demonstrate their spellcasting for the interruption mechanic to work, and if a player is found to be poorly portraying their spellcasting roleplay they will be asked to use the verbals located in the rulebook until they demonstrate better sportsmanship in this area. Safety Announcements Expect extremely icy conditions throughout camp the entire event weekend, please use cautions and your best judgement when in combat and moving around camp. There will be additional updates forthcoming on the state of camp as the week progresses. If you have ice cleats or anything that would improve traction, bring them. The Safety Team will be extremely short staffed this coming event due to scheduling conflicts and oog reasons so there will not be any on call shifts. Please have patience and grace for the members who will be present. Their contact info will be in Logistics. It will still be very cold at night, please ensure that you’re keeping warm and well hydrated. Remember, all spaces are open to those who need to warm up. Card Announcements As always, Card Team will be available in the Bar room from 6p-9p Friday (during check-in) to help new players with their cards. Please be respectful of our team and do not ask them for help before hours have started. If you are a regularly attending player, please try to resolve any card issues before arriving at camp (contact us on Discord) so we can focus on helping new players! A reminder that if you have not chosen to be part of the Armies of Light or Darkness through a qualifying exalted list (and filled out the Google form stating as such) you should NOT be swinging the assorted Flame or Frost damage types. All signatures on cards (bank transactions, lessons, signoffs, RITUALS) must have the player's initials AND card number. We recommend taking photos of your card before turning them in! Card team does their best, but we are only human(...ish). Photos are great for both you and us if we need to correct any mistakes. Read your card notes! Logistics Announcements Please be patient with the logistics team as we all work through this new economy update. This system is new to us, as well as you all, so let's work together and get things done right. Also, please remember that while you are in line waiting for check in, please be respectful of the marshals on duty and remain quiet while near the desk. - February 2025 Prologue
January 25th, 1225 4:13 pm The frozen ground gave little under Nolan’s feet as he tried to walk quietly through the underbrush of the woods. Although he was on the hunt for a certain amphibian, he spotted a fawn in the open. Pausing to pull a piece of white canvas, he began to sketch. The frog would be in frozen hibernation at this point anyway, and things were so peaceful. Unfortunately, they didn’t stay that way. "Professor Nolan! Professor Nolan, where are you?" Rylin stumbled gracelessly through the trees. She was not dressed for this today. But as she approached, she saw the fawn bolt at the noise she was making and winced when she realized he'd been drawing it. “...Sorry professor. Any luck finding your frog?” “Not yet.” The Professor said, standing and brushing the snow from wet trousers. “I’m sure today’s the day!” “That close, are you?” “The cave across the creek will be the one! The trees alongside the river are a perfect habitat, they’d be hibernating, so it would be the perfect time to study one. I just need to find where they’d be hiding.” Rylin frowned, turning to look at the cave, then back to Nolan. “So they're not going anywhere for a few weeks?” “Not until the beginning of spring if I’m correct.” “Well…that's a relief because I actually came out here to find you and bring you back. There’s another threat coming…so I scried you. Luckily I used to climb that tree when I was a kid,” she gestured toward a pine tree with lots of low branches, “so I knew where you were. Anyway, we need to get back. Travance will come help us like they always do, but we don't want to be caught out here without protection -” Suddenly something felt wrong, like for a moment the world twisted, the colors of the sky changed and everything felt like it sat in the wrong direction. But just as quickly as it came, the feeling left, and the memory of it began to fade. * Mayor Elsbeth Grey sat in the hallowed space of the Hospital of the Holy Light, looking over various reports from Travance with worry. Marching armies, confusion about banners being placed, evacuations. The army had fallen on Travance the previous evening but it seemed they were still locked in combat. Across from her Shepherd Leyla Boswell poured tea into three cups. Steam curled from the tea even in the warmed room. Elsbeth put down the papers with a sigh and lifted the tea cup. “Thank you Leyla, you’re a good friend. And your presence here is appreciated” “We will face this together. Denwick has persevered through worse, and we will continue to do so.” The Shepherd's gaze passed between the Mayor and the other individual, a Captain of Denwick, and within the next day her husband if this crisis could be resolved. “We have, but I’m afraid that this will be another one we barely scrape by from.” Captain Bellinore lifted his cup of tea, fingers gripping as if the cup itself were a weapon. “We need that militia I’ve been talking about, and we needed it yesterday. We can’t keep having so many close calls, we need a safety net.” Mayor Elsbeth sipped her warmed tea, disguising the expression she had in response. “Captain Bellinore, I appreciate your expertise and eagerness to keep our town safe. I assure you my priorities are for the safety of our people as well. The heroes of Travance have always been able to keep any threat from getting too close. I fear a militia would only make us a greater target. For now, we are too small to be noticed by the dangers on this side of the rift.” “Elsbeth, I admire your ability to turn away threats diplomatically, but not all dangers can be swayed with words, and the heroes can’t make it every time we’re in danger. You say we’re safer without a militia but I know that we won’t continue to be safe without one.” “Captain, you cannot stand against a Dark Paladin. None of us could. If we did have a standing militia, this threat or the next one may deem us dangerous and decide we must be dealt with. With Travance so close we can count on their great heroes to keep us safe. They will not abandon us in our hour of need.” She placed the cup down, folding the reports in a gesture of finality. “You should be thinking of your wedding. Don’t distract yourself with trying to raise an army from our neighbors when you should be focusing on remembering your vows.” “I assure you, I am remembering my vows. All of them.” Bellinore more dropped the teacup then placed it, splashing the warm liquid onto the table. He shifted in his seat, on the verge of standing. “How can I focus on our wedding when our neighbors lie dead in the rubble of their homes? Do you really think we can rely on being a non-threat to protect us from cruel and wicked people? What about when we are attacked while the heroes are preoccupied with a larger threat?” From her seat, Leyla winced, either at the poor treatment of the tea, or the thought of dead neighbors. Gently placing her teacup, she reached out to grasp Bellinores hand. “I think it’s important for us to remember that we all have the same goal in mind; to keep the people of Denwick safe. Obviously, there are different approaches to take in doing so, and none but the Gods can say which is right.” At the Shepherd's words, Bellinore calmed and sat back, though not without an air of frustration. She squeezed his hand again, looking at the Mayor. “Have you heard from Travance, Elsbeth?” “The reports from Travance are a bit muddled, to be honest. Most of it made sense with the heroes evacuating commoners directly in the line of the approaching army. I am confident this can be resolved, and I will do what I must to keep our people safe,.” “Are we on the path that the Void Sun is marching?” Leylas gaze drifted between the two, finally settling on Bellinore, whose tone became relaxed. “I don’t think so.” He looked back to the Mayor, his expression had become relaxed, but his eyes were focused. “Elsbeth, I trust you. I believe in your confidence, but that won’t stop me from worrying - ” * In the woods at the edge of the village, unseen by the residents, a figure stood. The Discordant had seen their debate, their worry over the choices to be made. They giggled softly, lifting a jagged black crystalline item, and dropping it to the ground. They watched as it touched the tapestry, and threads began to fray and burn away. Suddenly everything felt wrong, the world twisted. Where there was one conversation happening, now there were two. Soon there would be more, so many more. Soon this world would be free, free of choice. Free of consequence. The Discordant turned, their eyes and they met… yours. Yours as you watched this. They spoke and you felt them talking directly to you. “Don’t you want to see what that’ll look like?”
- Economy Shift Phase 2
Hi everyone. At this event we will be in phase 2 of the economy shift. Sign In At sign in you will not be allowed to leave logistics unless your card has been marked that you have turned in your treasure. There will be a note on your card indicating whether you did this last month or not. If you did not than you will be handed your card but then you must immediately go to the line to turn your treasure in. Please bring your treasure to logistics with you as you sign in. Divided by 10 All of gold value has been divided by ten. Your documented gold wealth has been divided by ten and all in game prices have also been divided by ten. As an example, a fourth rank scroll used to cost 7 gold and now costs 7 silver. Gems Moving forward Gem values will bear more weight in the economy than they had previously. Gem values did not get divided by ten. Instead, they were reassigned new values. These new values should allow gems being found as treasure to feel more special. We have also simplified the gem evaluation equation as the standard gems are now valued only on color type and no longer on shape. The values for standard gems are as follows: Amethyst 2g / Emerald 4g / Ruby 6 g / Sapphire 8 g / Topaz 10g The standard gems will no longer be engraved; however, the perfect cut gems will be. What was the purpose? To reiterate the point in the original posting, we had been creeping closer and closer over the decades towards drastic inflation whereas single gold pieces felt useless as treasure. What this adjustment does is bring real value back to the singe gold piece. Although numbers have been altered, everyone’s active buying power has stayed the same because both possessed wealth and prices to purchase things have both been altered together. Giving out Treasure or Payments If you were authorized for any reason to give out treasure wealth, such as a content marshal, lord, etc., you must adjust the amount you give out to reflect this shift. Full list of Values We have a full list of the edited values at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Dp5ZDDYcTrCA90gowvz1tEOORQkaRNVy4FExKZlii-4/edit?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR0vvnnp96Pv4T1fH0VGp6UHQNpIIWKgeQDlpJ-TwRMIYhjlhQW27Ma8hrU_aem_2_MZgAT6DKoxfT2XRpnq6A&gid=0#gid=0
