Travance, We are under siege.
The Order of the Concordance Sacrosanct have declared war upon our subjects and the very souls of Arawyn. In a perfidious and vile ambush, this cult has loosed an abomination known as a Corpse Harvester upon our world. A monstrosity formed through a ritual to manifest soul harvesters into unwilling flesh. This ‘Corpse Harvester’ is beyond a mortal threat, and has laid low many of our greatest heroes in its rampage.
Chief Darkwood of Pendarvin, in protection of her peers and subjects, was captured by this cult, and remains in their clutches. The Cult hides our stolen kinsmen in small, manufactured cavern systems throughout our very lands. I beseech all of woodwise ken and bounty hunters to seek them out, to find our heroes. To find your family. To find the cult and their sins so they may yet know the Gods' very wrath. I place a bounty of 200 Gold Pieces on the recovery of Chief Ilana Darkwood. For those of red-works I have a bounty for ‘The Father’ of this cult. I offer a bounty of 500 gold pieces for this beast to be dragged in chains into state custody, in whatever condition is deemed necessary by the righteous hand that apprehends him. For his Quinarian sycophant ‘Osicarius’, I offer 100 gold pieces alive, 10 gold dead.
For those of this doomed-cult who I know now read this notice, know two things and one truth,
I See You Insect. Justice is coming.
By The Very Throne,
Magistrate Robert Tzaareth
The cult's ritual to summon a Glommite entity has been foiled! The madman Osicarius is slain, fed to the Corpse Harvester. The Corpse Harvester itself has been undone. Their mad leader, the Consul, has been seized by judicial authorities and is now in his Grace's captivity awaiting royal trial. The scattered cult still have Chief Ilana Darkwood and have not yet forsaken their lost cause. The War Continues, R.T.
I will have the monks in my monastery in Alomiolande help in any evacuation efforts in Pendarvin. We'll be at the ready.
Father Ephrem
The Corpse Harvester, to my best guess, is about 30 miles east of Travance in a patch of forest. Seemed to be heading north. Possibly within Alisandrian borders, possibly Pendarvin, unsure. I'm going to investigate further and report back. I've instructed my people to evacuate the area and I implore the Pendarvin leadership to do the same.
~Ser Nesterin
Dear Magistrate Robert Tzaareth
We found Chief Ilana Darkwood but the cultist gate runed before we could reach them and we found that there are many different cave systems that have gate runes in and out of said cave systems.
Sincerly,
Squire Maliouse Estelgar
Master of the Mythril Enclave
Does anybody have any information about the last known whereabouts of any of the cultists?
I cannot make myself available for discussions in person, but I have tried to gather my thoughts as best I can here, and have dispatched this with one of the Drake Guard to be posted:
I am not sure that what happened--the creation of the Corpse Harvester--was really what the ritual intended. Perhaps it was. Or perhaps this was a horrific consequence of a ritual interrupted by violence... It has been suggested as much to me by Therion, whose counsel in this matter I trust most strongly. What I am sure of is that if there had been another intended effect, it would have been also vile. Whatever it was, it was using my brother's soul to terrible effect.
I have spent many hours trying to remember what the rest of the Order was always directed to call their leader--I was only ever allowed to call him father--and it escapes me yet.
These are the people who raised me, and they have done terrible things, and they have something far more terrible in mind, but I do not know what it is. I beg of all of you to stop them, and somehow stop this Corpse Harvester before it wrecks havoc on Arawyn.
If I think of anything more, I will send more notes.
- Lady Talaniel Starling
Nesterin,
Honestly, Bob's recap is pretty accurate. A cult kidnapped an elf named Elisaar, who has a relation to Lady Starling. We went in an effort to rescue him and stop what the cult was doing, but they performed a ritual essentially forcing a Soul Harvester, or potentially more than one into his mortal body, creating the above mentioned threat. Due to her personal history, she is a good person to speak to, though I'd wager most people who work with souls will have some level of knowledge about this. A further note for those intending to collect this bounty - be prepared to split it. I've had more than one encounter with the leader of this cult, and can atest to the fact that he has access to knowledge that he shouldn't. Consider him extremely dangerous. - Jackdaw
Magistrate, Is there someone specific I can speak to about more information on what happened. I was not there for what transpired and wish to assist however possible. I feel like more information is required before I can help set anything into motion. ~Ser Nesterin First Knight of Alisandria
I have a warning and a promise of my own to add.
Sacrosanct is one of the powers I wielded in Sevenlore, the purpose of it is to lift souls from their torment and grant them the peace that all deserve in the end. The only thing with greater freedom of movement than a fully trained Sacrosanct is a Planeswalker, and they are better demon slayers than some Belmonts. They are pure order and possess an overwhelming amount of Radiant energy within them.
If this cult is truly a (very) wayward order of Sacrosancts, this is the type of power you can expect from them. You can also expect that this disgusting misuse of these blessings, this Sacrilege, will be corrected.
On My Honor,
Practical Amhrán Briste-Laoch
