(OOG: Not Jackdaw,)
(OOG: All PC's know that Ser Danarest can only read responses that accept his offer. Other than that, only other members of the town may read this, so you may post secure in the knowledge that the bad guys will not see it.)
To my valiant and worthy foes,
The beginning of our game rapidly approaches. Your power and skill have grown to legend, and few can rival that strength. Even the gods sought your aid to fight my master Necrophitus, and I cannot overstate my excitement that I might have the opportunity to face such a challenge. Though neither of us will suffer catastrophic consequences should the other side prove the victor, I mean to take this contest seriously, and I would be remiss if I did not seek every advantage in trying to claim victory. I would be remiss if I did not take the chance to have some of the world's greatest warriors on my side, even if it is only for our agreed upon game.
This letter serves as an offering, and per the allowance agreed on in the provisions of the Terms of the Games, one I am allowed to make, though you are under no obligation to accept. For those of you, who like me, have always wished to test yourself against the might of this town. For those who may wish to join Ser Grimkjell. For those that wish to fight opposite your allies to give them a kinder opponent less inclined to slay them in battle. For all of you, I make this offer to hire any who are willing to fight for my side!
My terms are as follows:
The sum of three hundred gold pieces to be paid up front for accepting the offer.
Negotiations for further payment, may be had after signing. These further terms can be far more than additional gold, and limited largely by your imagination.
Bonus payment in coin for each point you claim for my side.
You will be protected under the terms of the agreement that has been made. Your will shall remain your own, you will not be compelled to follow any orders. You will not be forcibly raised as an undead if you can be restored to life. You will not suffer any permanent damage or alteration to your soul or body.
Be warned however, should you choose to accept my offer -
You will be responsible for your own actions, and the consequences thereof once these games end. Though you may be protected from the charges of assisting an enemy, the negotiated legal protections do have limits. In addition, I will be expecting you to conduct yourselves with honor and respect to our foes.
Should you violate the rules of the game, you will be facing my justice.
There are no doubt those amongst you that might feel compelled to accept my offer for the purpose of espionage. This is not against the rules of our game. However, know that should you be discovered, I will have you executed as a spy, and I am under no obligation to see your body reanimated.
I have contracted with a neutral messenger to deliver to me only responses accepting this offer. I will be able to read no others. I look forward to hearing from you and the games to come!
For the Honor of Mornea,
Ser Vaelin Danarest
if I may echo what I believe the magistrate above is trying to say, the number is a bit..:underwhelming for the social and potential legal consequences. If that aint the perfect encapsulation of the gig economy and providing free lance work.
I appreciate a good dialogue and am always willing to hear offers from potential clients looking to pay for my services. Ill try not to be offended at the thought I’d be willing to do contract work for such a small amount and look forward to hearing your revised opportunity.
Of course betting against Travance is historically a heroically foolish thing to do so that next proposed number should be equally heroically foolish for me to consider it.
