Heroes, Sailors, Adventurers,
In three days time, at first light on the 10th, I will be setting sail with my ship, the Aegeon, to hunt a thief who had stolen something very precious. From within the depths of a Morgazzi tomb late last night, Captain Lorenzo came into possession of an artifact Morgazzi blade and three dragon souls. I've since learned he's set sail and the rough location where his ship may be.
In the simplest terms, my intent is to find and harry this ship so that he may be captured and the dragon souls saved. Alone, or aided, I will be setting sail, and I make this notice calling for those who wish to join me.
The plan of action is a straight forward one. We will set sail and search for his ship, using any means we can to discern any information about the ship, his crew, and the feasibility of a raid on his vessel. This mission has been granted blessing and supplies by the naval authority, so we needn't worry about repercussions in a political sense.
I cannot at this moment offer pay for this mission, but instead I can offer this promise. Should we succeed in raiding his ship, all wealth - save for the blade he stole - is fair to take and distribute. I only seek the weapon so that I may deal with it appropriately.
If you're willing to commit yourself to this task, or your ship and crew to it, sign below and let it be known.

Verrill eventually found the White Witch, but swept the dust off me first. Old friend, I did not expect a literal broom. N.D.
I recall the name Quito from years ago, it rings a bell but i cannot remember why. I believe some in town had dealings with the boy.
Meeting with Alvarez seems like a trap, but one we can use to our advantage. Seems he will be out on a hunting excursion before our meeting. Twould be an interesting development if someone were to intercept him beforehand, no? Make an arrest? Although he'd be less inclined to give out information to those bringing him to justice. But I digress.
I would heavily suggest we make moves to not only win favor with the Duke, but with the Queen herself. Both of these routes have much to offer us. We must appear as a united front, rather than a band of individuals. We represent all of Kormyre in our actions from here on.
Alvarez absolutely must must MUST be kept alive. ALIVE. No fool choices here. He is too valuable as an asset. And his loss would bring us all the closer to a war we cannot afford to engage in. Too many fools leaping before looking in this bloody town.
Use your best judgement. We shall proceed with caution and tact.

I am staying around the Grove. I understand the focus is the fury and dragons, but if the Captain decides to go for a different flavor of 'monster', I am capable of sending a warning.

To all in Travance,
My diplomatic mission to Leighyre proved somewhat fruitful as both the Church of Valos there and the most influential, wealthy and respected Quito family in that city have both condemned the actions of Captain Lorenzo Alvarez. Without the support of all the cities in Coast Haven it is very unlikely that the Queen would call for open war with Kormyre.
However, (and there always is a "however") it seems that our 'friend' Duke Massimo Alighieri has ingratiated himself with Leighyre in rescuing Henri Quito, the son of the head of that family, from bandits in the Demon Barrows almost three years ago. This is not the first time in our world that those of nefarious intentions have used a good action as a tool for their own purposes to gain title and prestige. My suspicion is that the Duke might very well have been the cause for Henri's disappearance to begin with, but that would be most difficult to prove. Needless to say, Leighyre looks admirably upon the Duke because of that rescue.
I would advise caution in any parlay with Captain Lorenzo Alvarez, but leave open the possibility that he might be but a pawn (or a higher piece, perhaps) being used by Duke Massimo Alighieri. Things are not always what they seem to be in Coast Haven politics.

I heard some initial information has been acquired.
I am offering my assistance in any follow up questions that could be looked into
Or, if Coast Haven needs a response of some kind.

How Fun! It has been so long since I've been on a boat-! Longer still since I fought someone wielding a Morgazzi Artifact! I am positive I parked first mate Nalick and the White Witch somewhere- I'll be joining the fleet in a trice- just as soon as I sweep the dust off both of them. Captain Verrill Lebastion, Previously of the White Lotus Fleet.
We shall make the Black Keep available to any who wish to further research these artifacts, the vaults and libraries are a wealth of knowledge and may yield useful information for our cause. For those that may not know, the Black Keep was once a Morgazzi stronghold, perhaps some secrets yet remain.....
Though I cannot be in attendance for many upcoming feasts, my ship and my crew are prepared to assist where we can.
With regards,
Captain Axiana Lockmoore of the Kormyrian Navy
To all,
Should anyone have need of an extra man, I am available, be it on the diplomatic boat, taking out the Captain, or otherwise. Please notify me of your intent to me in whatever manner you choose. If I do not receive a response in time, I will willingly join Alester's crew. My skillset can be discussed in private once confirmed.
To all in Travance,
I plan to travel to Leighyre in Coast Haven on a diplomatic mission with the Church of Light there. Company would be welcome, unless your efforts are directed to other endeavors with regard to these incidents with Captain Lorenzo Alvarez. I will leave mid week sometime. Feel free to contact me.
Yours in the Light,
Father Ephrem, Primus of the Church of Light in Travance
PS This mission could be very helpful in our efforts with said captain.
Aleister, Whatever you do. DO NOT KILL LORENZO. In the coming weeks I will be coordinating with Dragoons, Monks, Healers and other avenues to explore the ability to be able to restrict the usage of these Draconic Souls so that they may be extracted and freed from him. It was the original intent to use Holy Avengers in Magnus possession to free them whilst in the box. Also be cautious as while I do not doubt your ability to find the ship and Lorenzo he has at his command an infinite amount of draconic constructs at his command. I hesitate to hurt the draconic spirits being forced to do his bidding. What Caelvan says is true. They will come to us in four weeks time. We both were on the vessel when we gave chase from the Tomb and hard to retreat due to the previous mentioned. Respectfully, Aiki
I've gone over the details and shall be personally committing myself and my naval assets to this task. My apologies for my seeming absence. This shall have my undivided attention.
With Love,
Commodore 'Sunseeker' Django of the Kormyrian Navy

(Plain text version: Hear ye, Subjects of Travance.
Lorenzo Alverez, Captain of the Forlorn Howl serving in Coast Haven’s 7th Fleet, has in front of multiple witnesses declared his intent to assassinate Count Sebastian Everest. Captain Alverez has obtained ancient and dangerous artifacts of the Morgazzi to do this, and the Forlorn Howl has been spotted on a course towards Travance. This aggressive action by a ranking member of a foreign military, if in any way legitimate, or authorized by the Kingdom of Coast Haven, would be an Act of War.
Kormyre has just finished fighting a war, one which saw every able bodied subject mustered to fight for our country. In victory our people have earned the right to return to their homes and families. Thus we will not rush brazenly into another war. We shall give Coast Haven the chance to condemn the actions of this lone Captain, and we will not be deploying our military forces until they provide an answer for his actions, or fail to provide one. However, if it is truly war Coast Haven wishes for, then they shall have it, and like many before them, they shall rue the day they challenged us.
We shall not sit idle though. As those currently charged with the care and defense of His Grace, The Regent of Kormyre is authorizing the following actions to be taken by the Heroes of Travance if they so choose:
Action the First: Draft a missive to Queen Luiza de la Borrasca of Coast Haven, and Captain Alverez’s direct superior, Duke Massimo Alighieri outlining the terms they must undertake for the Kingdom of Kormyre to not consider this an act of war, and so that peace may continue between our two Kingdoms.
Action the Second: Research the dangerous artifacts Captain Alverez has obtained, and how to deal with them should you acquire them. Further, begin preparing for how best to repel this assault by an organized military force against your Barony.
Action the Third: Although The Kingdom of Kormyre will not yet deploy our navy in a direct action against Captain Alverez, the Kingdom will issue a Letter of Marque to any ship, crew or individual, even those of our navy, who wish to take to sea, locate the Forlorn Howl, and engage the ship, up to and including capture or sinking. Collect the artifacts so they may be dealt with, any other spoils are yours to divide amongst yourselves.
The Regent wishes you good fortune in your hunt, and that peace prevails.

As you embark upon this quest, it is worth noting that Captain Lorenzo Alvarez of the Coast Haven Navy can be presumed to have hunted down at least one dragoon before this incident, and that he serves under Duke Massimo Alighieri of Coast Haven, a powerful and very unpleasant individual, and one who holds Travance in very low esteem.
I wish you all fair winds on your voyage, and good hunting,
Viceroy Talaniel Starling
I know where his ship is and it’s heading. If his heading doesn’t change and he gets average wind he should be nearing Travance in roughly 4 weeks time.

you had me at "fair to take"
