Report compiled by Lieutenant Darius Goldmane
1220-the leader of a cult calling itself the Cult of Ozzan was captured by various Travancians. Her name (or the name we were given) was Alora Maddock. It was learned that this cult was dedicated to some form of Abyssal being, which called itself Ozzan. Furthermore it was learned that Alora Maddock, along with two other high level members of this cult performed some sort of ritual designed to draw Ozzan to Arawyn. In order for this ritual to succeed, all three of these individuals needed to be killed by someone with a heroic soul. In the fight with the cult, one of them, Pierce Arkwright, was killed by a Travancian. Another, for whom we only have the first name “Riley”, was killed by a water elemental and so did not feed the ritual. Alora Maddock was captured and sent to prison to prevent the ritual from completing.
Here follows copies of physical evidence submitted by Dame Ebony Hale-MazoKisei, which may also be found on the Scholars Table:

August 3rd, 1222 - Report from Corporal Hendrick Alderson (OOG NPC) on prison break of Alora Maddock
Shortly after 9 bells this evening, one of the prisoners being held in our cells was freed by creatures of unknown origin. The prisoner in question was Alora Maddock and she was a leader of a group called the Cult of Ozzan. The creatures themselves were odd and it almost seemed like they shrugged off pain when we attempted to stop them. There were a handful of injuries amongst those of us that attempted to intervene, but thankfully no loss of our fellow guards. Please be on the lookout as we are not sure if there are more of these creatures around the Proper at this time.
August 15th, 1222 - Report from Lieutenant Darius Goldmane regarding capture, interrogation, and execution of cultist Reggie
On the night of August 12th, 1222, I and several other Travancians were patrolling the proper when we happened upon a member of the Cult of Ozzan, who appeared to be in control of three bizarre creatures. They appeared to be an earth and an ice elemental, along with a troll, but they also appeared distinctly wrong, as if those forms were being replicated by beings that had seen pictures of these creatures but had never seen one in person. All three were very dangerous and seemed completely impervious to any sort of pain, as described in Corporal Alderson’s report.
After all three were defeated, the Cultist was subdued and interrogated by myself, Captain Silverfang, Magistrate Tzaareth, and Mae Fang Zhang. They gave their name as “Reggie” and were revealed to be a lower member of the Cult of Ozzan. They reported that the escaped prisoner Alora Maddock had been killed by other members of the Cult of Ozzan for failing to complete the ritual. However, it was revealed that the death of Pierce Arkwright at the hands of a Travancian had meant that the ritual had been at least partially successful, as it allowed the cultists to draw pieces of Ozzan through from the Abyss. These pieces were the creatures Reggie had been controlling as well as those who had broken Maddock out of prison, meaning that they are Abyssal in nature. When asked about the location of the other cult members, Reggie insisted that they were the only one left, because they wanted to test out the new Abyssal creatures.
Further information was learned about the nature of the Cult of Ozzan as well. First of all, there appears to be a new leader of this cult. The name Reggie gave us was Willem, but they didn’t know any other details about their location or plans. In addition, it was revealed that the cult does not recruit new members. Rather people are chosen by Ozzan, who appears to have a great degree of Psionic ability. According to Reggie there exists some form of semi-permanent psionic link between Ozzan and all the members of its cult. Many do not ever meet each other, and according to Reggie, they are only identifiable by a combination of carrying the symbol shown below and psionic identification. It should be noted that Reggie did exhibit psionic abilities during the fight, and that they did not actually know what Willem looks like, which seems to corroborate this account.
The cultist Reggie has been since sentenced and executed on charges of attempted murder of subjects of Travance and the Citizens of Kormyre. It should be noted that their execution was carried out in such a way that no one with a heroic soul was directly responsible. Though we have no evidence that any further rituals have been performed, caution is strongly encouraged and all members of the Cult of Ozzan should be taken alive where at all possible.
