(Posted on behalf of Alaion, posts will be seen with time.) Fellow Dragoons of Travance,
I am sure you all felt the strange…disturbances…this past feast, and there are explanations for such feelings. To be blunt, the eggs are in danger.
There was an elven man posing as a potential dragoon who approached both Haytham and I for assistance. He was brought to the cairn not only to potentially connect to a dragon spirit, but also pay tribute to his father, a fallen ruby dragoon. When we arrived, he unwrapped what we had been told was his father’s glaive. It was shrouded by a cloth bearing an unknown symbol. A rough sketch of the symbol is at the bottom of this letter.
The glaive in question was revealed to be a Morgazzi weapon. We realized we had been deceived and did our best to interrogate the trespasser. The man, called Fendrik, explained that the group he belongs to instructed him to deliver a killing blow on a dragoon in the cairn to begin some kind of process that was never revealed to us. He was successful, seeing as only Haytham and I were present, and, although we fought with everything we could, Haytham was bested in the end, as Fendrik is formidable and was prepared. I hid at the end of the battle so I could stop Haytham from being killed without being killed myself. Fendrik left after the deed was done, taking the Morgazzi glaive with him.
This group is out for dragoon blood, as well as the blood of the dragons in the eggs. We must be extremely diligent with the eggs, because who knows what will happen should they get their hands on the eggs. If anyone has any information for the rest of the dragoons, or further questions about the ordeal, please contact either Haytham or me and we will be available to answer said questions.
Stay Alert,
Alaion Balvalur
I have seen this symbol before in the most unlikely of places. During the trip to Vardemir to place Hastingale we ran into a construct that was lying in wait to ambush anyone attempting to get to the place where the sword now rests. The construct was imbued with the symbol and the spirit of a dragon was imprisoned inside. The construct was dispatched and the spirit released.
I thought nothing of it as the construct had to be in place before the protections were redone. I should said something. I'm sorry.
Also I'm going to let Aleistar and Odette know the connection just in case there is more trouble in store for Vardemir.
We all knew something like this would be happening once we started. I just didn't think so soon.
