Some of you have experienced this, others may still only believe these creatures to be myth. Some weeks ago, and even longer before that, a kir'oth has been stalking the woods of Travance proper. It has hunted well so far and been able to escape after causing a considerable amount of damage. However, it is high time we get ahead of this creature and capture or kill it. For those unaware, a Kir'oth is a cat-like creature that measures up to fifteen feet long with long eyeless faces. They feast on the magic contained in a person's body until they are like a dried husk. This fact especially puts those who delve heavily into the supernatural at heightened risk to these creatures. However, it is not impossible to hide from. Those practiced in Valence magic can obscure your supernatural aura, preventing the creature from sensing it. Use this to your advantage if the kir'oth is spotted or nearby. The creature absorbs the mystical energies around it, so you are more likely to be an effective agent against it using a plain steel sword over a magical one. When hunting the creature, it is my suggestion to work in teams, and as unpleasant as it sounds, use your supernatural power to your advantage as bait. Ambush the creature with a strong physical force, and you may have the luck of bringing it down. Mana-charged traps or arcane glyph plates may also serve well to help lure the creature out of hiding.
Be smart about your hunt and plan accordingly.
Stay safe, and good hunting,
Aleister
I'm sorry, why am I only just hearing about this now? Do you have any idea how much weave crystal I consume on a daily basis? I'm practically a walking, all you can eat buffet for this thing! I'm going to be out of Travance for the foreseeable future now. I hear Alluria is nice this time of year, maybe I'll go there.
