Cult Ritual Seized!

A member of The Order of the Concordance Sacrosanct was caught attempting to infiltrate the city of Stonefall. While the madman detonated an incendiary device, wounding nearby subjects in an effort to cover their tracks-- in their cowardice and sloppiness they left behind a badly scorched journal. What it says has been deemed worthy of public notice. It is transcribed below:

Log 59 G. Aelinor

The Rite of Erosion that [the name is stricken] failed. The resulting energy shattered what was left of his soul, and he is beyond our reach. Tranquility take him. However, the Anrosia he was working with seemed to have an unforeseen effect on the spirits that the Rite usually attracts.

The Process of the Rite of Erosion failing caused the Anrosia to become unstable, and lash out. The resulting energy caused a chain reaction which seemed to have caused the souls which gathered around the Ritual site to calcify. They have quite unexpectedly shattered into dozens of Shards, and torn through the veils into the Mortal Realm.

These souls are Tormented, and our duty is to give them Peace.

Postscript:

Further study required: but we've found a few, I'm almost certain these Shards can be reformed. It feels like they want to be, their properties seem to be attempting to reach out to each other. I know they can reform into Anrosia. This would be a great boon. I'll continue my research.

Log 62 G. Aelinore

After another day of headaches, I think we've finally nailed it down, Tranquility take us.

To retrieve a single shard of these Tormented Souls, this Anrosia, you require a team of at least three individuals, and that's just to gather them.

First, they are often lodged within Spirits and Ghasts, which must be brought low in the physical Realm.

Second, a member of the Order with experience in misdirection must pinpoint the Shard, otherwise it seems to slip out of view.

Third, a member of the Order with physical might or finesse must remove it, a process quite difficult.

Fourth, a member of the Order who studies the Arcane or Mystical powers of our world must gather it up for transport. This requires great concentration, but we've been able to successfully hold up to 10 Shards at a time.

Lastly, a member of the Order skilled in the process of Creation must reformed these Shards back into one full Tormented Soul, the Anrosia being complete. This process seems entirely unique to each member. A Hand skilled at smithing armaments was able to reformed them as deftly as one skilled in potion brewing.

I'm certain now these Shards, they wish to reform. And when they are, the Order will be able to use these Tormented Souls, this Anrosia, to its full extent.

This is a Matter of Peace.
