So I've spent the past several days scouting and tracking the scent of Blight across the barony (starting from Drega'mire and making my way east).
I found myself east of Caer Bridaeg, in Farghast Forest. Speaking to the locals, they mentioned a place in the forest that they avoid at all costs. When I got near, I could feel Blight pulses of energy radiating out. Super disgusting, hate it, rolling in healthy clean swamp mud for the next week. But anyway. These felt like a regular pulse or heartbeat...long story short, I was able to sneak my way further in and found what looks like a Blight ritual.
The ritual consisted of one of those large stick fetishes, fused to a dead body. It was a steady source of Blight energy, and not directly like any of the totems we've encountered before. The poor dead guy didn't look to be a local villager, maybe a wanderer or hermit? The body seemed to be about a week and a half old.
I didn't find anything specific about this location in the forest, and it feels like this was a test to me. It's bad news, but it feels like if this grows/strengthens it's going to be VERY bad news.
As much as it pains me to say, I was not able to unravel this ritual myself. I need backup for that. Especially since once I started interfering Blights (first blighted animals that could not be saved, then Bleakstones) started attacking me (and crows kept appearing in the trees...). With Vokar'thul's aid, I was able to lay down some countermagic/druidic order energy in the hopes of slowing this thing's spread and buy us more time. I do at least have a clear location now, and while it's not going to be easy to get back there now that they know that I know, this is something we need to handle. Preferably soon. I took as many notes as I could on this site, if you have questions please ask them! I don't want to forget any details.
Wasn't Kanas heading to Farghast Forest? Has he been located yet?
