Hello everyone. This past feast Therion, Kieran and I discovered something that we feel everyone should know.
Some of you will remember some time ago when we were brought metaphysically to the Bleakwood to save a magpie Faerie named Magfaelyn from a ritual caster trying to free a Blight-like creature by sacrificing her to break the runes containing this creature. These runes were empowered by the deaths of members of the Emerald Coven in the First Age. We stopped that ritual and I re-empowered the runes as best I could. After this occurred I requested from a March Warden in Selendrias who patrols near the Bleakwood to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
Now to present day. The Saturday night of the May Feast Therion, Kieran and I were called by three spirits. These spirits were members of the Emerald Coven, and my theory is they are also the same who died imprisoning the creature mentioned above. They said in their time they could not kill the creature and only imprison it but they feel that we have the power to kill this creature once and for all. Their spirits merged with ours and we then were attacked by what is referred to a Corrupted Grove Heart as well as servants/minions of the creature. All while the ritual caster watched us from the Spirit Realm. The Corrupted Grove Heart was slain with the help of several towns members and that immediate issue was dealt with. Geminating the ground beneath the Corrupted Heart helped, but I am not sure if that will work as well or at all the next time. However, upon examining this Corrupted Grove Heart I received a Telepathy from the March Warden I asked to keep an eye on the Bleakwood. She stated that the power that I told them about has left and she is not sure where.
My best educated guess is Travance. Please be careful and an eye out. The important details of the enemy: The Ritualist: - Seems to be an Empyrian who pacted with the Blight-like Creature - Can scry from the Spirit Realm The Creature: - Was imprisoned in the First Age by the Emerald Coven
- Seems to be corrupting Grove Hearts
The minions: - Can be identified by appearing as floral Blight, however these have orange strands of energy woven in with the rest of the Essence of Blight in it's 'body'
- Drain you of your energy when you fight them if they scratch you
The important details to know: - Grove Hearts are the core of a Druid's Grove. A Druid's Grove is an area on Arawyn that has powerful druidic energy and often has a "Grove Spirit" attached to it. This is not always the case, but is a common one.
- If you destroy or corrupt a Grove Heart, you destroy or corrupt both the Grove itself and/or the Grove Spirit that guards it.
- If you know of a Druid's Grove, I urge you to guard it through whatever means you can if it is required. Some Groves, like the Travancian Grove of Firin can hide themselves, and while in danger, are a harder target and will most likely not be the first ones this entity will go for.
Therion and I are heading to Selendrias to see if we can uncover anything else about this. Kieran is staying in the Proper and combing through the scholar tomes we have amassed here. If you have any questions or would like to assist in this endeavor, please post below or you can reach out to any of the three of us via missive or telepathy and we will do our best to answer questions. We will also post more updates as they come available through research.
Thank you, and stay vigilant.

Count me in for blight stabbing. I'd also love to know how Magfaelyn's eggs are doing.
Caelvan, and any others who would know:
How are Magfaelyn's eggs? Are they well? Can I visit the one who holds them?
Father Ephrem
I need a research vacation (my brain hurts, too much thinking for this poor lizard). But I'm always down to stab Blight. Plus scaly mom would be disappointed in me if I didn't help.
Once my brain hurts a little less, if you point me in a direction (give specifics please), I can apply my copious druidic and primal spirit knowledge to the task and see what I can find out.
Also, stabbing. Will always stab Blight. Yes I said that above but it bears repeating. Because I will stab it a lot.
I would also ask to be included to assist.
I would like to help however possible. You all know how much I despise blight. I will do some further research independently and present my findings here. If there is anything I can do to assist other than murdering any of what was named above, please do let me know. -Ser Nesterin First Knight of Alisandria
I have a bit more information to add. A bit after everything settled down I was filling Ser Nesterin in on what happened and put our heads together about a couple things. First thing is about Don'roc and the way he scries. It seems to be some kind of Blight astral projection, appearing as if he were actually there in the spirit world. Secondly the corrupted Grove Hearts, like the one we fought, are sometimes referred to as Blight Roots. And third, the 'minions' were Grove Hunters. Grove Hunters are the things that seek out and corrupt Grove Hearts.
- Amhrán Briste-Laoch
I do know the identity of the ritualist as he is someone from my past. To put it bluntly he was my former master during the Sylph enslavement, I believe I mentioned him in a previous posting. He is called Don'roc and I could have sworn I managed to kill him before I escaped his chains, but fate seems to prove otherwise as he is back. I do not know why he is doing this, but it cannot be for any good. He is an evil being who will use any means necessary to gain power. While we ask for help, I also ask that during the inevitable fight, I strike the final blow. He will die by my hands so he can harm no one else, I promise this.
