(Not Jackdaw)
Hello Again Travance,
What an eventful visit within Travance; many games played, you’ve left me an Employer with no employees. Let me begin by expressing my most sincere congratulations to those of you who won in my games. I hope you enjoyed your prizes as much as I enjoyed providing them.
Games aside, there’s work to be done. I am close to finishing, and I’m afraid it’s time to buckle down. Due to the generous donation, unwilling as it was, of one Travancian, I was able to collect the offering necessary for a ritual done under the sign of Aashirya. Unfortunately, it was all for not. Based on residual magic I found at my ritual site I see that I have you all to thank for that. Enjoy your victory, I’ll be on the lookout next time, and I won’t fall for that trick again.
I know some of you are seeking to chat. It’s quite kind of you, but I’m going to have to decline. I’m sure you’ll understand, last time I came to the call of mortals who ‘just wanted to have a conversation’, it didn’t go well for me. I’ll make a deal with you though, once I’m done with my work, I’ll come back to Travance, then we can talk and play more games together.
The Employer?
Hello Friend,
I'm sorry about the whole Aashirya business. I know you worked hard to collect that blood, and I apologize it had to go to waste. But come on, you know we had to do something about all these stellar rituals in our backyard. And I know you wouldn't want a game where one side isn't playing (fairly), isn't making any moves.
(Also, if you don't need that blood any more, would you mind destroying or returning it? The man it was taken from is one of mine, and he's very unnerved by the idea of his blood being used for ritual work. If it's not too much trouble, please).
I did sincerely enjoy your prize though; I found our chat very informative, and your hospitality was flawless. Thank you for your invitation. I did treasure our meeting, and should you change your mind about wanting to talk--or just wanting someone to listen--you know where to find me. If you're more comfortable talking on your turf, I consent to getting yanked through the gate again, and give my word to come peaceably and abide by rules of hospitality.
You might have given up on yourself, but I'm not giving up on you. Every life is worth something, including yours.
